@LiveActionSW – Star Wars’ Mystery Mini-Rig!

MINI EPISODE – Ralph and James, while recording an upcoming episode discover this bizarre Mini-Rig Star Wars vehicle behind the scenes of the Battle of Hoth. Not seen in the film, but definitely made for the picture. Let us know in the chat below what this vehicle might be!

Original John Williams Documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oyQQYOQOGk

UPDATE: Pablo Hidalgo (@pabl0hidalgo) on Twitter:

“This is the “Rebel cannon sled”, a piece of production design that attempted to maximize value by building it on a real vehicle. In this case, an AKTIV snow trac sled.”

“The blueprints for it call out the snow trac base as well as its use of an ‘existing cannon unit.’”

“You may occasionally find photos of Luke in his snowspeeder pilot manning the guns online labeled as a ‘deleted scene’. It’s not. It’s more like a photo opportunity, as this prop / vehicle was on set that day.”

EPISODE 2 – James and Ralph discuss the 1997 cutscenes from the LucasArts game Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. The full motion cutscenes feature actors in live action moving around in full CG environments. The CG isn’t great, either is the acting, but the spirit of Star Wars is definitely present and there is a sort of charm to this footage that came to us late during the “Dark Times”. 5.24.21

@LiveActionSW – Ralph Chats Scores 1

Episode I – Join Ralph as he points out the long forgotten Imperial Theme from Star Wars (1977) composed by John Williams. After Williams had composed the Imperial March for The Empire Strikes Back, he used that theme for Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire. Even thought John Williams abandoned the theme, Michael Giacchino and John Powell used it in Rogue One and Solo: A Star Wars Story respectively.
